Help widget: in-product help center with AI answers
The Helprism help widget embeds a compact, AI-powered help center on any website or in any app. Single script tag, Shadow DOM isolation, AI Answer Bot included. Pro $49/month, no per-resolution charge.
What the Helprism widget is
The most valuable help center article is the one a customer reads without leaving your product. The Helprism widget collapses that distance — a floating button on every page of your app or marketing site, one click to open a compact help center with search, AI Answer Bot, category browse, and a reader. The whole surface is one <script> tag. Paste it into your site, save, and the widget is live. No framework integration, no npm install, no build pipeline, no SDK. It works equally well on React, Vue, Svelte, Astro, Webflow, Framer, WordPress, Squarespace, plain HTML, or anything else that can include a script tag.
Install in 30 seconds
From the Settings → Widget section in your workspace dashboard, copy the snippet: a single <script src="https://helprism.com/widget.js" data-subdomain="your-workspace"></script> line. Paste it before the closing </body> tag of any page where you want the widget. Reload — a floating help button appears in the bottom-right corner; click it; the widget opens to your help center home with search at the top. On a mobile device, the widget opens full-screen.
How it works — Shadow DOM + iframe panel
The widget is two pieces. The launcher button renders into a Shadow DOM root attached to your page — Shadow DOM means the button's styles are fully isolated. The widget panel is an iframe that loads /widget/:subdomain on first open. Iframes give the widget a clean security boundary — it cannot read your page's DOM or cookies, and your page cannot read the widget's content. The iframe only loads when the widget opens, so the cost on page load is just the ~3KB launcher.
What is inside the widget
Search with autocomplete (same typo-tolerant search as the full help center). AI Answer Bot on Pro+ plans — answers customer questions inside the widget with citations to source articles. Category browse. Article reader with your brand color, logo, fonts, and full block formatting. Feedback (thumbs up/down). Analytics — article views and searches from the widget contribute to your standard metrics.
How this compares to Intercom Messenger, Help Scout Beacon, and Zendesk Web Widget
Most help-widget tools in the category combine chat with article search. The chat is the heavy part — it requires inbox infrastructure, agent routing, presence detection, and (in Intercom's case) a large per-seat license. Many teams pay for all of that to get the article-search surface they actually use. Helprism is article-and-AI-answer-only — no live chat. Lighter (~3KB launcher), faster, and substantially cheaper because it does not need the inbox infrastructure. Pro $49/workspace flat, no per-resolution charge, no usage cap.
Where the widget is the biggest lever
In-product onboarding — embed on dashboard, settings, and billing pages, three of the highest-question surfaces in any SaaS. Marketing-site pre-sale questions — embed on pricing, integration, and feature pages so prospects get answers without sending an email. E-commerce — cart, checkout, and order-status pages; customers ask the same shipping/returns/payment questions across thousands of sessions. Developer tools — embed inside the docs site and the dashboard; pair with the AI Answer Bot grounded in API references. Multi-language products — the widget respects language detection in your help center.
Getting started
The widget is included in Helprism Pro ($49/month per workspace) and Business ($99/month). On a fresh workspace: run the AI Onboarding Wizard to generate your first articles, upgrade to Pro from the Billing tab, copy the snippet from Settings → Widget, paste into your site, reload. Open the widget yourself, search for the first three things a customer might ask, and verify the AI Answer Bot returns reasonable answers. From signup to a live widget embedded in your product is typically under two hours.
